Counselling With Jasna

Jasna Levinger-Goy, PhD, MBACP, BACP Register

Home

Welcome to my private practice! As a fully qualified psychotherapist with years of experience I offer a safe space in which complex issues, feelings and experiences can be talked about.

We all wish to address challenging feelings, thoughts and experiences which get in the way of smooth running of our lives. It can be a crisis or a particularly difficult time when we wish to make sense of our lives but somehow seem to get stuck, however hard we try. So it is at this point when turning to someone in a professional capacity, to a counsellor/psychotherapist is a way forward.

If you would like to understand yourself better, why you feel the way you do and manage or cope better with your difficulties why not embark on therapy. If you do, therapy will allow you to explore your past, help you come to terms with your current troubles through considering your options and choices and ultimately process and resolve problems and adversities.

About Me

bacp

I am a fully qualified therapist, a Member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and a Member of the BACP Register. I am integrally trained and my practice is informed by different theoretical approaches and modalities. In my clinical work I match my approach to each client’s unique needs while adhering to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Apart from private practice my work experience involves counselling at Centre33 and Hills Road Six Form College (youth counselling), University Counselling Services (staff team) and Cogwheel Trust, all in Cambridge. I also have the experience of working within different cultural settings as well as the academic environment where I was a lecturer and pastoral duties played a significant part of my work.

In my practice I offer one-off, short-term, long-term and open-ended psychotherapy/counselling to clients (individuals and couples) from 16 years of age onward, both face-to-face and on-line.

Languages: English & Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian.

My most recent relevant qualifications: HE Diploma in Integral Therapeutic Counselling; Certificate of Higher Education in Counselling; University Certificate of Counselling Skills PhD in Sociolinguistics

About Counselling/Psychotherapy

Counselling/psychotherapy is about choosing a professionally trained and experienced psychotherapist/counsellor who will offer you a safe space in which you will be treated with respect; where everything you say will remain confidential and importantly you will be listened to in a supportive, and non-judgemental manner. Together with your therapist you will explore the issues that matter to you, consider together ways of addressing them and moving forward.

If you are unsure about starting psychotherapy or if you are not certain what it is or whether it is appropriate for you why don’t you email me or phone me so that we can discuss this. You might like to have a quick telephone conversation with me before making a decision whether counselling/psychotherapy is the right option for you.

I’ll be happy to hear from you and answer any questions you may have. I usually see clients once a week, although the frequency under exceptional circumstances can be negotiated. Regarding the length of therapy it depends on a number of factors but it is always discussed with the client so that satisfactory outcome can be reached.

Special Interests

» Personal issues (anxiety, depression, self-esteem...)

» Family dynamics (family roles, interaction within family, relationships...)

» Couples' relationship issues (communication, trust, "power struggle"...)

» Issues pertinent to older adults (retirement, losses, loneliness...)

» Social inclusion (dealing with differences, feeling disenfranchised, struggling with gender issues...)

» Coping with student/professional life (perfectionism, fear of failure, realizing full potential...)

» Work-related issues (stress, harassment, bullying...)

If you recognise any of the above issues and the feelings associated with them such as discomfort, feeling ‘out of place or depth’, or not fitting in then let’s work together, think together so that you can come to terms with what is affecting you and explore ways to manage or overcome that.
